COMPANY DESCRIPTIONS

The Dallas Conservatory Mini and Apprentice Companies (Ages 6-14)

For  young artists who show talent and drive, we create an atmosphere for students to develop the skills that will ensure a rewarding experience performing as an important member of a team (“company” as we say in dance).  Mini and Apprentice Company dancers learn discipline, technical skills, artistry, team accountability and the skill of projecting joy and positivity.

Mini and Apprentice Company dancers have special performance opportunities, and participate in regional convention/competitions where they compete as a company and take classes from inspiring Master Teachers.

Students follow an advanced track of classes designed to prepare, encourage, and grow in the art of Dance. See requirements below.

The Dallas Conservatory Junior and Senior Companies (Ages 10-18)

For dancers demonstrating excellent skill and training, the world-class performing ensemble of The Dallas Conservatory is the preparatory step between training and a possible professional career.   The Junior and Senior Companies consistently work with top choreographers and garner the highest distinctions at the world’s most difficult competitions. For the public, we dance onstage at The Majestic Theater, Moody Performance Hall, The Eisemann, SMU McFarlin, and in outreach programs.

All members of Junior and Senior companies are part of our Pre-Professional training program, and spend a minimum of 15 weekly class hours studying dance, with an additional 5-10 hrs devoted to rehearsals.

Our Junior and Senior dance company members are on one of three study tracks:  Concert Dance, Commercial Dance, or Triple Threat Training (dance, singing and acting for Stage, TV and Film).

For 2019-20, we expand our Junior and Senior Companies to include more dancers, more competition and convention venues, and more outreach opportunities for both our Commercial and Concert Track students.
