Christopher Sellars

Christopher Sellars received his initial training from his parents at Orange County Dance Center in Huntington Beach, CA. After eight years he went to The Rock School for Dance Education where he spent a year furthering his training. He landed his first job with Ballet West II in 2005. In 2006 he joined Ballet West where he quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to First Soloist in 2013. Throughout his career, he performed many Soloist and Principal roles along with working with critically acclaimed choreographers like Val Caniparoli, Nicolo Fonte, Edwaard Liang, and Helen Pickett. Mr. Sellars officially retired from his dance career and joined the Ballet West Academy Principal Faculty in January 2020.

In addition to a dance career, Mr. Sellars was the Interim Artistic Director of Ballet West II for two seasons and taught for the Ballet West Academy along with teaching master classes all over the United States. He has received the Outstanding Choreography Award from the Youth America Grand Prix twice and has choreographed multiple works through many outlets, including Ballet West where Adam Sklute has offered many opportunities for his growth and creativity. Christopher always enjoys sharing his passion with students working towards their goals.
