Kate Kuether, TTC Dip, ARAD, ISTD, grew up in Gloucestershire, England, and trained at the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London, under the direction of Dame Merle Park, Course Director Miss Valerie Adams, and Dame Ninette de Valois, founder of the Royal Ballet School and Company. After three years of full-time rigorous training at the Royal she received the Teachers’ Training Course diploma. Along with her diploma, she received, awarded with distinction, her teaching certifications for Cecchetti Ballet Technique (primary through solo seal) and National Dance, as well as for the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus (pre-primary through advanced), Character Dance, and Spanish Dance.
After graduating from the Royal, she became an original cast member of the Basel, Switzerland production of The Phantom of the Opera, where she worked extensively with Tony Award winners Hal Prince and Gillian Lynne. She spent two years in Basel, and then returned to London to join the West End production of Phantom. After getting married in 1998 and moving to New York, she spent five years as a cast member of the Broadway production of Phantom, and then went on to play the principal role of Meg for five years on the National Tour, performing in over 40 cities across the United States and Canada. Kate joins Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman and Steve Barton as the only performers to have appeared in both the West End and Broadway productions of Phantom. She has recently returned to Dallas from Europe, where she performed as an original cast member in the new revival of Phantom in Hamburg, Germany. Amongst various performing experience in her native England, Kate danced as Dream Laurie in Oklahama.
During her years in New York she taught dozens of Broadway Classroom workshops, and over the last eight years she has shared the results of her extensive training and performing
experience. During this time, she has created training programs as Ballet Mistress at the
Hoboken Dance Studio and Garden Street School of the Arts (Hoboken), as well as various
schools in Great Britain.
