RANDOL BETANCOURT

Senior Ballet Men’s Faculty and Rehearsal Director

Randol Betancourt began his formal ballet training at the Escuela Vocacional de Arte Raúl Gómez García in Holguín, Cuba. After five years of rigorous artistic formation, he was selected to continue his studies at the prestigious National Ballet School of Cuba, where he completed the final three years of his professional training.

Upon graduation, Randol received a direct contract as a Soloist with Joburg Ballet in South Africa. During his four years with the company, he performed leading roles in major classical productions including Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, Coppélia, The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Swan Lake. His powerful technique, refined Cuban training, and strong stage presence distinguished him as a principal interpreter of the classical repertoire.

He later joined the National Ballet of Ecuador as a Principal Dancer, where he spent three years performing both classical and contemporary works. His repertoire expanded to include leading roles in Carmen and numerous other full-length ballets and contemporary productions.

Randol continued his international career as a First Soloist with the National Ballet of Belgrade in Serbia, where he danced for five seasons. There, he performed principal roles in Le Corsaire, Giselle, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and a wide range of classical and contemporary works, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and expressive artist on the European stage.

He retired from professional performance at the age of 30 after a distinguished international career.

In addition to his performing career, Randol has been dedicated to teaching since the age of 20, accumulating over 13 years of pedagogical experience. For the past three years, he has served as a faculty member at The Dallas Conservatory in Dallas, Texas, where he continues to mentor and inspire the next generation of dancers, sharing the discipline, artistry, and methodology of the Cuban ballet tradition.
