2026-27 MUSICAL THEATRE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
(Dallas / Frisco) MUSICAL THEATRE Grades 3rd – 6th – This fun class is taught by professional actor/director K. Doug Miller. Students will explore the basic techniques of acting, singing, and stage movement. The class will also help students develop confidence and serve as a great creative outlet.
(Dallas) MUSICAL THEATRE Grades 7th – 12th – This class is taught by professional actor/director K. Doug Miller and will focus primarily on acting. It will also incorporate vocal technique and stage movement. Students will explore monologue and scene work, improvisation, selection of audition songs, characterization, and stage presence/confidence, as well as audition and vocal technique. This fun class pairs well with TDC Glee Pop and is great training for those that might like to pursue performing, either as a career or hobby.
(Dallas/Frisco) MUSICAL THEATRE II – III – Prerequisite: Must have completed one year of Musical Theatre with K. Doug Miller. This class will build on the tool learned in the first year of Musical Theatre. In addition to the next phase of monologue and scene work, improvisation, characterization, stage presence, and vocal technique, we will concentrate on auditioning, resumes, headshots, and how to market yourself as a young performer. Besides the performance skills examined in this class, the students also learn confidence, communication, creativity, and quick thinking — all tools they’ll use every day, both onstage and off!
(Dallas) TDC GLEE POP! Grades 4th – 12th – This exciting vocal group will learn vocal technique, the basics of sight singing & ear training, while performing songs from their favorite pop-singers like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Adele, as well as some classics. And what vocal group is complete without some showtunes and holiday songs? There will also be performance opportunities for this entertaining group. This fun class is taught by K. Doug Miller & Kelly Schaff and is a great addition to a Musical Theatre class.
ACTING COMPANY | FRISCO
The acting company is performance-driven and provides a comprehensive study of acting technique, theatre and musical theatre history, and terminology. Company actors study proper vocal technique (acting and singing), song interpretation, scene work, and musical theatre choreography. Our Winter and Spring Shows (sometimes a musical, sometimes a student showcase) is presented at a top local theatre!
