Doug is the former Musical Theater Conservatory Director for TDC and Dallas Children’s Theater. After 10 years at DCT, he is excited to be returning to TDC! In addition to teaching musical theater & acting classes for over 20 years, Doug has also taught Stage Audition Bootcamp, masterclasses, private voice/acting, and improvisation. Doug is a Resident Director at DCT and every summer he directs an all-youth musical for them. Some of his past DCT youth productions include Into the Woods, Willy Wonka, Annie, R&H’s Cinderella, The Addams Family, Little Women, and many more. A few of his DCT main stage directing credits include A Charlie Brown Christmas, Stuart Little, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Grace for President, Miss Nelson Has a Field Day, Miracle on 34th Street, as well as several national tours. He’s the former Performance Director for Barney & Friends (PBS) and has directed and performed at most professional theaters in DFW, including Theatre Three, Uptown Players, WaterTower Theatre, Casa Manana, Kitchen Dog Theater, MainStage Irving, Second Thought Theatre, and The Firehouse Theatre. Doug has received the Dallas Theatre League, The Column, Dallas Observer, and the prestigious DFW Critics Forum awards for Acting & Directing. He attended the University of North Texas and The Performing Artists Musical Theatre Conservatory. Doug is committed to enhancing and changing the lives of young performers.
