A Brief History
Ashlee was born in York, Pennsylvania, just twenty minutes south of Harrisburg. Throughout her childhood and teen years she was involved in every aspect of the arts: music, dance, theater, choir, color guard, and yes, marching band. After a seeing a production of ANNE FRANK on a middle school field trip, and of course endless nights of TV Land studying Lucille Ball in “I Love Lucy”, her path to the arts began.
With such a passion for the arts she taught herself piano and flute, began voice training, and taught herself ballet in her childhood room from a book titled, “The Young Persons Guild to the Ballet.” Ashlee may or may not have broken a mirror or two while trying to learn fuéttes in her room which was far too small for a wobbly teen who had no idea what she was doing, but gets an A for effort!
After working on a few shows in the Harrisburg area, she moved to Philadelphia and attended Temple University receiving a B.A. in Theater and Communications with an emphasis in acting and directing. She also earned a minor in dance and music.
