Blake McGrath

Blake McGrath is an acclaimed dancer, choreographer, recording artist, educator, judge, and director.

Widely regarded as one of the best dancers of his generation, by the age of 25, Blake had already shared the stage with Madonna, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, and Beyonce. He danced with the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, for Jackson’s 30th anniversary special on CBS.

Blake’s skill and charisma as a dancer became apparent to a wide audience on the premiere season of the famed US dance competition-reality series, “So You Think You Can Dance”.  After making it to the finals of the show, Blake quickly became the ‘it’ dancer in Los Angeles, and was immediately cast in Jennifer Lopez’s MTV “Dance Life”, a reality series that chronicled choreographers in Los Angeles.   He danced with many more stars, and on numerous TV shows and commercials.

Blake returned to his native Canada to judge and choreograph for 4 seasons of “SYTYCD Canada”. However, after reaching the peak of the dance world, Blake McGrath felt it was time to pursue his inner passion: music.

McGrath produced his acclaimed debut recording, “Time To Move”, which he licensed to the music industry powerhouse Universal Music. The soulful, vocally fluid album included his radio hit song “Relax” that was released in November of 2010. Blake’s creative collaboration with Emmy Award Winning Choreographer Mia Michaels (Madonna, Celine Dion, Prince) produced a provocatively haunting video for “Relax”, which garnered an MMVA in June 2011.

The Pop/R&B album also features the radio hit songs “The Night” and “Stage Fright”. It was the accompanying videos to all three radio hits from his debut album that established Blake’s talent as a musician with exceptional dance ability.

In the spring of 2011 Blake’s “Stage Fright Tour” headlined at 50 venues in North America. His most recent EP “I Am Blake McGrath” hit top 10 albums on ITunes worldwide including his smash hit, “Missing You”.

Keeping his foot in both worlds, Blake has recently been seen guest choreographing and performing on hit TV shows including ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” and Life Time’s “Dance Moms”. He has choreographed and appeared extensively in high profile commercials and advertisements for campaigns including Gap with Sarah Jessica Parker, Old Navy, Pepsi, Hummer and iPod. Film credits include the Academy Award-winning films “Chicago” and “Rent”. He is currently on the Faculty of 24/7 Dance Convention.

Blake looks forward to ushering in a new generation of professional dancers, using his lifetime of experience and connections to jumpstart exciting new careers!
